BEIS outlines possible approaches to the transposition of section 30 of the Fourth Money Laundering Directive. This covers the requirement for EU member states to maintain a central register of beneficial ownership information of corporate and other legal entities in their territory.
The European Parliament formally adopted the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) on April 14th 2016. The regulation will come into force in May 2016 and Member states will have 2 years to transpose the provisions into national law. BIPA will continue to assess the impacts and monitor developments of GDPR over the next 2 years.
